High asset couple had no prenuptial agreement

Many people who have amassed a significant volume of wealth are concerned with how to protect those assets in the event of a divorce. That said, not everyone in Colorado is willing to negotiate a prenuptial agreement as they prepare to wed, often for fear of upsetting their soon-to-be spouse. When a high asset marriage ends, however, many of those same people wish that they had taken that important wealth preservation step, as they enter into the divorce process with little or no protection.

For many, divorce is the beginning of a grieving process

The time that passes between accepting that one's marriage is headed for divorce and the actual conclusion of the legal process can be hectic. There are so many things to handle within that short span of time that many Colorado spouses feel overwhelmed. When it comes to managing one's emotional reaction to divorce, the "grieving" process is often pushed aside for more immediate concerns. This can leave a spouse ill-prepared for the emotions that often follow the end of a marriage.

Can mediation be helpful in a military divorce?

Navigating a divorce is never easy, especially if one or both spouses are involved in the military. Military divorces typically have additional issues, and each spouse may want to take steps to gain the knowledge necessary to ensure all issues are addressed. The logical first step for each spouse might be to retain the services of an experienced Colorado military family law attorney who can provide the relative information related to a military divorce.

Could social media derail your child custody case?

Preparing for a custody battle is one of the most stressful things that many Colorado residents will ever experience. A great deal of that stress comes from fear of the unknown. Will your ex play fair, or will your case quickly turn into a battleground? Will the court be able to see through various tactics employed by the other side and recognize your fitness as a parent? When considering these and other child custody matters, it is important to take a proactive stance whenever possible.
