My Collections Practice
I focus my collections practice on the needs and rights of creditors, although I will help debtors negotiate workout plans for unpaid obligations. I handle a broad range of collections matters, from simple to complex, from the county courts to federal collections. I handle matters involving promissory notes, security agreements, secured assets and financing agreements. I can also help you recover in situations where the debtor is a dissolved partnership, corporation or limited liability company, and will defend you if the debtor files a counterclaim under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
At my office, I employ cutting edge technology to help clients locate assets and recover unpaid debts. I use a sophisticated skip tracing software program from WestLaw® to find debtors and hidden assets, and help you determine the value of pursuing a claim. I can identify instances where there have been fraudulent conveyances of property in an attempt to avoid paying a debt and will take legal action to obtain a judgment and enforce that judgment.
I also provide counsel to clients who need to perfect and enforce liens, including construction professionals who need assistance collecting under a mechanics lien.
